Graduate student Sergio Ors Navarro of the No. 3 West Virginia University men’s soccer team has been named the Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week. He also earned a spot on the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week.
Ors Navarro led the Mountaineers to an opening-night victory over Purdue Fort Wayne with a hat trick, the first to accomplish the feat since Marcus Caldeira did so against No. 1 Marshall in 2023 and the 46th in WVU history.
The Castellon, Spain native is off to a flying start in week two of the season as well as he netted a brace in a 4-0 win over Saint Francis on Monday evening.
Ors Navarro is the fourth WVU player to earn Offensive Player of the Week in the three years the Mountaineers have been in the Sun Belt, joining Dyon Dromers in 2022 and Caldeira and Yutaro Tsukada a season ago.
The Mountaineers are back at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium on Friday to take on George Washington. Kickoff against the Revolutionaries is set for 7 p.m.
